Pre-Farm Gate Waste Program – Data Collection

Summary

RMCG, with our consortium partners, are pleased to submit this tender to deliver project 1.1. We appreciate that this project involves agriculture, fisheries and forestry and have partnered with specialists in fisheries and forestry to complement RMCG’s agricultural expertise. We understand that the scope includes plastic, organic and hard waste and have partnered with Rawtec to contribute waste and data collection experience.
With our combined experience and expertise across the primary industries sectors and the waste industry we delivered the AgriFuture business case which highlights that RMCG is well placed to deliver this project and a selection of the other projects (1.2, 3.2, 3.3) which will be responded to separately.
RMCG proposes a 3 phase approach to deliver project 1.1:
Phase 1 – Research and design of data collection approach
Aim: Inform the data collection approach for phase 2 by consolidating existing industry waste data and designing a questionnaire to address gaps in the available data.
Phase 2 – Data Collection
Aim: Quantify agricultural, fishery and forestry waste through a targeted data surveying system established in phase 1, including location of generation and where available pathways for disposal.
Phase 3 – Database modelling and data visualisation.
Aim: Consolidate data collected in phase 2 and extrapolate to a national generation using survey result and ABS production data. This will be presented in a database which is aligned with the Australian National Waste Report. The database will allow AgriFutures to continue a program of data collection and reporting into the future.
