Summary
1. To develop, optimise and prove on commercial scale key technical aspects of intensive Mulloway production necessary for the successful commercialisation of the technology, especially the large scale reliable year-round production of a consistently high quality product using prawn farm ponds.
2. To determine the profitability of all stages of the operation with the aim of providing baseline data to inform commercial decision making by potential farmers, investors or developers on commercial viability.
There are five specific parts to the overall R&D Programme with interrelated objectives and experimental programmes.
1 (a) Juvenile rearing/Live feed development.
1 (b) Fish growth performance/Development of husbandry techniques.
1 (c). Harvesting/Quality evaluation.
1 (d). Fish processing/Market appraisal.
2 (a). Economics/Profitability.
