Summary

Nous Group will deliver a strategic roadmap to guide responsible and scalable adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across Australia’s agriculture, fisheries and forestry (AFF) sectors. Commissioned by AgriFutures on behalf of the RDC AI Alliance, this project will provide a robust situational and gap analysis, stakeholder-tested priorities, and a co-designed investment and implementation plan.

Nous will draw on its expertise in complex multi-stakeholder engagement and sector-level strategy to deliver:

A strategic overview of the current state of AI in agriculture, fisheries, and forestry;
A gap analysis of current capabilities and barriers to adoption;
Actionable recommendations for investment, collaboration, and capability building;
A roadmap to support RDCs and AgriFutures in leading the AI transition.

Through layered engagement—including interviews, focus groups and workshops—we will surface tensions, build alignment, and prioritise initiatives that reflect sector-wide needs. The final deliverables will position RDCs to lead a coordinated innovation ecosystem, accelerate scientific discovery, and unlock productivity, sustainability and resilience gains.
