Summary
The Agrifutures Thoroughbred Horses Program has previously invested in project PRJ-011628 – Diagnostic investigations into Chlamydia psittaci pathology in equine abortion, which developed Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) tests for Chlamydia psittaci and Equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV1). This project aims to validate and develop these tests to create an easy and efficient test kit to diagnose C. psittaci and EHV1 in thoroughbred horse foetal post-mortems. This project will undertake further validation of C. psittaci and EHV1 LAMP tests developed as part of project PRJ-011628 and translate this process into an easy-to-use test kit commercially available to stakeholders and adopted across the on-farm vets and veterinary clinics.

- Develop an easy to use prototype diagnostic test kit for multiplex LAMP Chlamydia psittaci/internal control and EHV-1/internal control deployed on the Genie III.
