In this podcast we sit down with Professor Chris Whitton, Head of the Equine Centre at the University of Melbourne to hear more about his recent work. Funded by AgriFutures Australia, the project aimed to develop knowledge about how racetrack surface selection can improve safety for racehorses and jockeys.

Professor Whitton is joined by Dr Craig Suann, AgriFutures Thoroughbred Horses Advisory Panel member and former chief regulatory veterinarian for the NSW thoroughbred racing industry for 33 years.

This conversation is about the importance of this research for the industry while touching on Professor Whitton and Dr Suann’s lifelong commitment to the thoroughbred horse industry.
