Haemodorum coccineum (Haemodoraceae) is an attractive species from tropical Australia (Queensland and Northern Territory), producing orange to red flowers from November to March, a time when red flowers are highly desired on global markets for Christmas, Chinese New Year and Valentines’ Day.
