The wildflower industry is one the fastest growing rural industries in Australia. In 1993, RIRDC commissioned Karingal Consultants of Melbourne to carry out a comprehensive Baseline Study of the Australian wildflower cutflower and foliage industry.

The report analysed the prospects for growth and profitability and identified key strategies to achieve the industry’s potential.

This second edition, also by Karingal, reports on important developments. It presents updated export and other statistics and reaches conclusions with important implications to the industry’s future.

The report shows why the dried flower industry has been neglected as a sector and how Australia has the potential to be the world leader in processing technology for a wide variety of new species.
