RIRDC supported a small survey of the composition of hatchery waste. Five hatcheries provided hatchery waste samples to be analysed in the survey. Data was generated on the chemical composition of the hatchery waste.
This report was produced to provide the Australian meat chicken industry with a dataset of analyses of Australian meat chicken hatchery waste. This can then be used by industry to consider alternative methods of disposal of the waste, and provide support for applications to the appropriate regulatory bodies to do so.
