The objective of this project was to define the extent to which grain storage protein composition explains rice variety differences in grain quality.
By having a better understanding of the role of rice grain protein composition, it may be possible for rice breeders to more easily achieve grain quality breeding targets.
The availability of new, improved high yielding, high quality rice cultivars will advance the profitability of the rice industry.
