Several viruses are known to cause respiratory disease in horses in other parts of the world, but their existence in Australia has not been investigated. One such virus, equine rhinitis B virus (ERBV previously known as equine rhinovirus type 2) is known to cause significant respiratory disease in other countries. However, its presence in Australia has never been determined. This study determines the prevalence of ERBV in the Australian horse population, and begins to develop methodologies for its diagnosis and control. 2001, 21pp, Pub No 01/021 $16
