The Australian chicken meat industry is continually investing in research, development and extension of production practices that improve animal welfare, animal health, food safety, product quality and cost effectiveness associated with chicken meat production. The chicken meat and egg industries have mutually recognised that emergency disease mitigation and management is a cross-industry priority, and have invested in developing systems and materials to improve preparedness in the event of an emergency animal disease in either of these industries.
