This publication is the project report that provides background to the companion RIRDC book _Postharvest Treatment for Wildflowers – A Practical Workbook_ (RIRDC publication number 02-021). This report provides information on the workbook and its contents. It provides a summary of the state of our knowledge of post harvest treatments, handling procedures and technologies for wildflowers and recommendations for future research, development and extension. These two publications will provide valuable information for growers and exporters to enable them to improve flower quality and thus enable the industry to continue to expand and compete internationally.
