There are three key factors that impact the result of a spray applications: pH, bicarbonate concentrations, and hardness. Each of these effects the performance of spray applications differently, but all lead to poor knock-down results and can contribute to longer-term herbicide resistance. Salinity and turbidity also need to be considered when assessing spray water quality. This fact sheet provides an overview on managing spray water quality.
