The aim of this research was to develop an effective extension strategy for the safe use of farm chemicals by market gardeners of non-English speaking background (NESB) in the Sydney Basin. The impetus for the research was that although farmers of non-English speaking background are important in horticultural production throughout Australia, little attention had been paid to their access to information, particularly in the safe use of pesticides.
