Summary
The project is to identify the possible causes of skills shortages in the poultry sector. The project will investigate the reasons behind the lack of youth interest in pursuing a career in the poultry sector and in agriculture in general. This project will involve developing a questionnaire for surveying high school students. The project will use both a qualitative and quantitative approach to identify student's attitudes towards the poultry industry and potential barriers to entry into the industry. This project will help the industry to develop strategies to address the skills shortage in order to ensure the sustainability of Australia's poultry industry. During this project, high school students will be surveyed for their perceptions, attitudes towards the Agriculture, more specifically poultry sector. Based on the permissions and responses, several High schools will be visited from different states
