There is scope for developing plantations or agroforestry systems using high-value timber trees. The growth of these species is not as high as some of the faster growing eucalypts or tropical pines but the value increment of the rainforest species may exceed these latter species. In the particular case of agroforestry systems pruning schedules will need to be developed to maximise stem quality.
