This report is the first stage of an overall evaluation of the New Plants Program in RIRDC’s Prospective New Industry portfolio. This is the seventh report in a series of evaluations and the third at the sub-program level. This report presents a history of the New Plants Program to date, compiling information on all 258 completed and current projects. A second report, stage two of the evaluation, provides an in-depth benefit-cost assessment on economic, social, and environmental impacts of 5 sets of projects representing approximately 9 per cent of total program funding.
This report classifies the projects into groups according to common outcomes and summarises the objectives and outcomes of each project or group of projects. It also provides an initial assessment of the impact of the project, based on the knowledge of the program managers.
