About the theme
Theme two of the Carbon Initiative Program aims to help understand whether it is practicable and economically viable to establish a carbon farming and carbon markets engagement scheme based on producers:
- Pooling soil carbon and associated co-benefits contributions as part of a regional cooperative arrangement and selling them through the voluntary market
- Being able to effectively and rigorously demonstrate they are actively reducing carbon emissions and achieving co-benefits through their carbon farming practices
- Receiving a premium payment based on their combined carbon sequestration and co-benefits contribution.
