This report discusses the design, start-up and normal operation of a covered anaerobic lagoon (CAL), constructed at the JBS Australia’s King Island meat processing facility. This was part of the greenfield wastewater treatment plant commissioned in December 2011, with monitoring conducted until June 2012.
The project objectives where to demonstrate an efficient and effective means of producing safe and clean biogas for use as a possible renewable energy source at a processing plant through the development, fabrication, installation, operation and monitoring of a covered anaerobic lagoon (CAL).
