The challenges and issues facing Australia’s rural industries and rural communities have undergone significant transformations in the last two decades—transformations that the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation has positively engaged with in its diverse programs of investment in research and development—some of which we highlight in this Annual Report. RIRDC also actively addresses the Government’s priorities while also addressing the future research and development objectives of our industry partners as detailed in the Review of Operations in this report. This document is RIRDC’s annual report to Government and industry stakeholders on the Corporation’s operations for 2009–10. It is aligned with RIRDC’s Corporate Plan 2007–2, the Annual Operational Plan 2009–0 and sector five-year R&D plans, as well as complying with mandatory and best practice reporting. The report contains:
